This is very much a continuation of the series and it just sort of carries you along with all the usual verve and interesting plots until you are done and just sad it ended. I will admit that I struggled with all the detail in this book but it was great to read something different and not the normal run of the mill. Try the whole series if you need a book with something not ordinary.

I finally got through the whole book. I really liked the first five books. However, this book was very disorganized trying to keep up with all the sub-plots and bringing them together. This book could stand a rewrite. The concept is good but the carry through is terrible.
Good Read. Quite satisfactory progression of Emily's adventure through life. I have come to crave following her.

Some reviewers complain about there being too much mysticism in Emily's previous installments. I like it and wish this story had more of it. I live ordinary. I want to escape ordinary. I'm sad Emily is growing up into ordinariness. Kinda boring.
The series continues and I found it as enjoyable as the other books so far. It was good to see so many of the characters in the previous books show up and also meeting some new ones. So much detail in this book so it took a bit more time to read as I didn't want to miss anything but overall the book just worked on making me enjoy the series more and more and wanting another book waiting as I finished this one!
First, let me get on record that I have read and loved every book in this series. This one didn’t track as well. It wasn’t as warm and personal and filled with magic as the others. There were too many characters for me to follow, maybe. Maybe the scene changes weren’t linked well enough? I am still glad I read it, but I’m just sayin’.
Girl Rides the Wind, the latest in the Emily Kane series, is a joy and a delight. Emily, now using her Michiko Tenno name as a US Marines officer and helicopter pilot, participates in a joint international naval exercise in Asian waters where everyone involved has a hidden agenda. Threats to both her and the young Japanese Princess Toshi soon led to the kind of mayhem with which she has become very familiar. In addition, she encounters a link to her father's dark past. Though it all, Emily fights back and prevails as "No one is as evil as I am".

I really enjoy this series, although this book did seem a trifle forced in places. I highly recommend it.
This book was late being delivered and frankly it showed it. What should have been a 5 star read was reduced to 4 stars for just plain dragging to much. The great news is once again Emily kicks some major behind and at last completes her duties to the small princess. Emily finally meets Danko one of her fathers original team in some unusual circumstances and he comes along to help rescue the little Princess the future Empress of Japan. Perhaps this book would have been better in two volumes instead of one, it was an entirely enjoyable read even if it did drag in a few places and a few times the POV was lost. Download and enjoy and I am looking forward to Book 7.
I've read the whole set now (6 books, well 5 and a short). I wondered if Antoine could keep up the excitement and the answer is "no". This last book is slow (for about 70%) and very very confusing. Finally, at the end, there is some excitement. But I don't see how he can keep Emily's story going without her getting into greater & greater perils each time. The narration switches between characters but often without any idea of who is talking with whom. By the end all becomes clear, but it takes some effort to get there.
There are also more typos than previous books "intell" should have one 'l'; all instances are incorrect. 'You're' is used for 'your', 'new' for 'knew' and 'one's' for 'ones'. I still rated the book '4' though if I'd read it by itself, I might have given it a lower score. All the other books in the series I rated 5+.
