Fun read - romance with a touch of the paranormal thrown in. I love Janet Chapman's books! She develops her character well and does really well in the plot development. This book makes you sad at first with the death of the sister but then it makes you laugh with funny moments in parts of the rest of the book. And through the whole book you see the developing romance take place. I love the touch of paranormal that is thrown in with the story of the highlanders. I read one of the later books in the series first, not realizing that is was part of the series. That got me hooked and now I have the whole series to read in order starting with this one. I already know that the story stays true throughout the whole series and you get to visit the old characters all along the way. Great read, I HIGHLY recommend.

This was a very "sweet" read. You already know the plot by now, so I won't repeat it. The characters were well developed and the story was fast paced. Personally I'd like a little more descriptive "sheet dancing", but it would not have worked here. The interaction between the characters was witty and real. Best part of the story for me was thinking about a scared highlander fashioning a diaper out of a towel for 4 week old "Baby" and winds up making an over the shoulder plaid for him. I'd like to see that sold in a store. Worth your time and money.
I have the paperback. I love this book, it is the first of her "Highlander" series. But I have already read and reread this book several times since I ordered the hardback. I will read anything she writes. She makes me laugh and cry and want to pick up a baseball bat sometimes, and her stories are wonderful.

I read each and every book from this series in order and nonstop. OMG...What an amazing experience Granted there were some characters that I loved thoughout the series. One of the things that most impressed me is we really get to see the happily ever after throughout the series.

If you have the money and can afford to buy the whole set, that is the experience that you are shooting for from this author. Chapman is creative funny, and sincere with these characters and you feel the love between main players as well as the family they have around them. After all those books I was still left wanting more.

I passed my set to my sister. She calls me at the end of each one to discuss the new characters, the new dynamic they'll create in future novels in the series.

Truly a fun read. The best read since my first historical romance (Knight in Shining Armor).
A funny story where a brilliant scientist discovers that family and love may be more important than her work. Coping with discovering that she is drawn to a man who is more than 800 years old is hard to deal with, but love and being cared about turn out to become more important than independence.
The first book in Janet Chapman's Highlander series is full of both humorous and tender moments. It starts off on a somber note with the heroine dealing with the death of her beloved sister, but soon picks up its pace with the addition of our hero Greylen and an unexpected plane crash. The interaction between the characters was definitely comical at times and sweet at others. My favorite thing about this book was that in addition to the sweet/humorous romance the author touched a bit on the hardships of losing a loved one and how sometimes that love can transcend even death.

It is a bit different from usual time travel novels in that the characters have already had time to adjust to their leap through time. The only one who has any kind of problem at this point is the heroine who for the most part is in disbelief at the possibility of them being from a different time. The only problem I had with this book was that the romance was a bit fast and there wasn't as much getting to know you as I felt there could have been. It really was a wonderfully enchanting read.

This is the first installment of the Highlander series.

This book maded me cry and laugh And fall in love althrough the book. I found this book to well writen with very stong characters. The two main characters are Grace Stutter and Laird Greylon MacKeague.

Grace who is a Rocket Scientist is going home to see to her dying sisters last wish. The last wish was for Grace to give Mary's baby to the father. The problem with that is The father claims to be born in 1171. Not 1971 but 1171.

On the flight home she is flying with a cocky pilot, one hot big man and the baby. The big hot man is Laird Grey MacKeague. And just by looking at him you can tell that he is scared to death to fly. Well with a huge snow and ice storm going on I could see why as well.

This story is about how men from the 1200's can make a living in the 21st century and how Laird Grey finds his soul mate in one rocket scientist.

This book will make you laugh and cry. But warning... this book will make you read the whole thing in one sitting.
